The founding impulse for today’s EcoBrands GmbH (formerly NaturaPharm GmbH) dates back almost 35 years. Ani Valentin-Basirashvili tells her story:
“A decisive milestone was the year 1990, when I was given the opportunity to do an internship at WELEDA AG in Germany as a young pharmacist. I got to know a pharmaceutical-medical approach that immediately convinced me and still guides me today.
Founded in 1921, WELEDA develops remedies and personal care products based on a holistic understanding of people and nature. Ideas that are highly topical today in connection with the struggle for sustainable development were already the leitmotifs that were close to the hearts of the founders of WELEDA at that time. I thus got to know WELEDA as a pioneer of sustainable healing and personal care product production.
Building on these initial contacts, a close cooperation developed. WELEDA entrusted me with the task of promoting its natural products in Georgia and setting up a distribution system.”
