Description

impossible to recycle. And those that end up in nature
remain for decades or even hundreds of years. Doing nothing about it will only increase
the damage. Be aware and distance yourself from plastic. Switch to bamboo instead.
What makes this bamboo toothbrush such a sustainable alternative?
Our toothbrushes are almost entirely biodegradable. The bamboo handle is 100%
plastic-free and can therefore be disposed of in the organic waste stream.
Unfortunately, the hairs are not (yet) allowed in. Break off the head with a pair of pliers
and throw it away with your general rubbish.
Currently, the toothbrush bristles are made of nylon 610, which requires castor oil from
the castor tree. This process is already a significant improvement compared to the
production process of regular nylon – which uses petroleum. However, it does not yet
ensure 100% biodegradable bristles. We will keep looking for the right formula until we
will be able to offer fully biodegradable toothbrushes. Until then, this is our best
alternative.
The right quantity of your ideal toothbrush
A great toothbrush is different for everyone. We distinguish between toothbrushes with
soft and medium-soft bristles. Sensitive gums? Then choose a toothbrush with softer
bristles.
You might have used a plastic toothbrush until now and are not yet sure if the bamboo
alternative is as handy. Our advice? Just try one out. You can specify how many
bamboo toothbrushes you want to get. Big fan of brushing your teeth with bamboo

Sustainable and animal-friendly bamboo
Like many of our products, this beautiful toothbrush mainly consists of bamboo. For
various reasons, bamboo is a highly sustainable material. First of all, it is the fastest-
growing plant in the world. The kind we use, moso bamboo, grows up to one meter per
day under optimal conditions.
The origin and cycle of a bamboo plant are also very sustainable. Bamboo does not
grow from seeds but one extensive root system. Using at least five-year-old bamboo
keeps the root system healthy and intact, and new branches grow constantly.

Most importantly, however, we are not a threat to pandas. Their diet consists of more
than 90% bamboo. Fortunately, they prefer to eat the leaves that grow close to the
ground. Therefore, their choice does not fall on moso bamboo. The leaves of this kind
grow too high.
Part of a greener world
Since our collaboration with the International Association of Human Values and Eden
Reforestation Projects (ERP), we plant a tree for every purchase. We do this together
with ERP, a world expert in tree planting. They operate in 8 countries on three different
continents and already have nearly 500 million trees on the counter.
With this bamboo toothbrush, you contribute directly to the restoration and preservation
of forests. We are very grateful for that because together, we make a difference.
